What to wear?
Again, comfort is our concern. Choose clothing that you're comfortable in or something that others have complimented you on. Think about the look you want to convey.
If it's a group portrait, coordinate colors/tones.
Generally, solid colors and long sleeves are best.
Avoid patterns and designs that may distract from the portrait. Simple, solid tones are
more elegant and won't "date" your portrait as quickly as trendy patterns. It is
important to bring at least one back up outfit for variety. Arrive at our studio dressed
in an outfit that you will be photographed in. For child sessions, think in terms of
play clothes; sleeping clothes; party clothes; sports clothes; dress up clothes;
swimsuits; hats; sunglasses; or no clothes if you prefer (under one year old only).
Sweaters and turtlenecks are "old reliables" if you've got them.
Coordination of clothing for group portraits is an extremely important component to
insure a successful finished portrait. As difficult as it may seem, I encourage everyone
to make the extra effort for this important occasion. Email this page to anyone included
in the portrait in advance and discuss color options for the adults and children if
applicable.
